Vaughan Oliver
Images from the book Vaughan Oliver, Visceral Pleasures.
Vaughan Oliver is a designer who is devoted to independent rock music. He ignores the limiting conventional rules of graphic design, and creates another bright world of sensation and pleasure. He always manages to create a perfect relationship between the text and image, where they are equally beautiful. His type is always so intricately designed, he shows real attention to detail.
I find it often difficult to put type with image - where to place the type so it adds to the whole design rather than takes away. I love the images Vaughan Oliver uses, I would love to become a designer like him, and I will always look to him to inspire my typography.
